Japan’s Asahi Kasei has announced that, Tongsuh Petrochemical, a South Korean subsidiary, has got ISCC PLUS certificate for its acrylonitrile (AN) as a sustainable product, and production of AN using biomass propylene is scheduled to begin in February 2022. AN is a raw material to make ABS resin, acrylamide, acrylic fibre, and other chemical products.

Germany imports protective clothing from Albania

China's technical textile exports earn $34 bn in Jan-May

Technical textile exports from China fetched $34.29 billion in the first five months of 2020. This included $22.56 billion of masks and $2.19 billion of protective clothing, according to the official data. The industry also witnessed a sharp growth in production, sales and profits, owing to the soaring demand for these goods due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

US company makes cloth mask which prevents virus

US medical textile products manufacturer HipSaver has designed the first cloth mask which has proven highly effective in preventing penetration by virus particles in independent tests. The virus particles tested were five times smaller than Covid-19 virus particles, meaning that the efficacy against preventing Covid-19 virus particles could be even higher.

Suominen increases spunlace capacity in Europe

Suominen Corporation has increased its spunlace capacity in Europe by upgrading and restarting one of its existing production lines in Cressa, Italy. The investment will strengthen Suominen’s capabilities in Europe and it is made in line with the strategy aiming for growth.
