Q&A with Mr. Tian Zheng Kun, Equipment Director at Shandong Dezhou Lan Tian Textile Co., Ltd.

The textile industry is currently facing the impact of a number of factors including high costs for labor, raw materials and logistics, as well as a shortage of working capacity. This means profit margins are even more compressed.

Shandong Dezhou Lan Tian Textile Co., Ltd. has invested in nearly 40,000 heads for open-end spinning in recent years and all of them are equipped with Loepfe's latest open-end clearer, YarnMaster 1N1 and EOS.

Mr. Tian Zheng Kun is the Equipment Director at Shandong Dezhou Lan Tian Textile Co., Ltd., and he was ready to give Loepfe an interview to share his experiences in yarn quality achieved with Loepfe YarnMaster 1N1 and EOS clearers.

Q: Mr. Tian, please briefly introduce your company:

A: Shandong Dezhou Lan Tian Textile Co., Ltd. is located in Shandong Dezhou Lingxian Economic Development Zone. Our company was founded in 2002 and covers an area of 200,000 sq. meters. Shandong Dezhou Lan Tian is one of the largest-scale professional production bases producing open-end yarn in China. We produce 50,000 tons of various open-end blended cone yarn annually, mainly OE Ne 5 - 35 polyester cotton yarn, viscose yarn and similar yarn. We have 75 Taitan open-end machines with a total of 40,000 spinning positions. Most of them are equipped with Swiss-made electronic yarn clearers, Loepfe YarnMaster 1N1 and EOS.

Q: From which channels did you find out about Loepfe's open-end clearer?

A: At the beginning of the project we recognized Loepfe's open-end clearer from various professional textile magazines and our network. We then discovered more through our own market research and by exploring the Loepfe website.

Q: What made you finally select the Loepfe open-end yarn clearer?

A: When the company started, most of our yarn customers were high-end OE yarn buyers, so the equipment selected was from the domestic leading manufacturers and manufacturers from overseas. Loepfe was the most experienced in the field of open-end yarn clearers. They were selected after a comprehensive investigation and after gathering the opinions of our engineers.

Q: What were the most troublesome defects that Loepfe YarnMaster EOS has cleared during the production process?

A: During recent years, we have encountered defects including short, thick long and thick yarn defects which were inevitable during the spinning process. The application of YarnMaster 1N1/EOS helped us to set up a direct basis for optimizing the process and improved the pre-spinning. The classification data clearly shows which part of the production process needs to be improved.
Of course, this also relates to the Loepfe professional services team at Guangdong Kaiping Services Centre. We hope Loepfe will continue to maintain its professional services, most notably the spirit and attitude.

Q: Loepfe YarnMaster 1N1/EOS also has the power to detect periodic and non-periodic defects which could assist the sales of fancy yarns. Can you share your experiences?

A: This feature has been enabled and optimized by Loepfe’s service technicians since the startup of the new machines. Since then, we have not received downstream negative feedback from buyers, based on this setting. I consider this to be a good function providing various patterns for fashion designers. For a long time we have also developed and created slub-yarn patterns. I believe this function would help us to solve some of the spinning problems during the production process.

Q: How did you feel about the YarnMaster 1N1 and EOS yarn performance after utilizing Loepfe clearers for several years. Could you share your experiences with the field industry spinners? 

A: After utilizing Loepfe clearers for several years, there’s an overall feeling within our company that Loepfe products are very satisfactory in controlling quality, failure rate and delivering on-time after-sales service. We rarely receive downstream complaints about fabric. We feel that the yarn clearer is stable, precise and the after-sales service is very timely when we need technical assistance. The company's technical personnel and Loepfe’s after-sales team are in contact with us at any time needed. Overall, Loepfe open-end yarn clearers help us in many ways:
