First Pakistani Becomes President of International Cotton Association

The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) announced on Thursday that Mohomed Bashir has been appointed as the president of the International Cotton Association (ICA), marking the first time a Pakistani has held this prestigious position.

His appointment is a testament to Pakistan’s increasing prominence in the global cotton and textile sectors. With more than four decades of experience, Bashir has made significant contributions to both local and international markets.

He serves as chairman of Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited, one of Pakistan’s top textile companies, where he has been instrumental in expanding its global reach and enhancing its reputation for high-quality products.

Bashir has held key leadership roles throughout his career, including president of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), chairman of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), and chairman of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC).

His appointment to the ICA highlights his extensive experience and commitment to the industry.

The International Cotton Association, based in Liverpool, UK, is a leading authority in ensuring fair trade practices in the cotton industry.
